Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is hiring for a WIC Support Staff/Outreach Specialist at the South Des Moines clinic. The role supports participant intake, benefits issuance, and client education in a fast-paced community health setting.

You will greet clients, verify information, operate the WIC system, and participate in outreach and quality assurance activities while assisting participants with forms and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience dealing with the public.
• Computer skills including word processing and/or data entry.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet public, answer phones and provide customer service.
• Complete participant intake: verify residence, ID and income; collect demographics; assist with forms.
• Issue benefits and explain eWIC card use; maintain records.
• Maintain computer system: data entry and retrieval, print benefits and forms, schedule appointments.
• Participate in outreach, QA/improvement activities, and recommended trainings.
• Translate/interpreting for foreign language speakers (verbal and written).
• Refer clients to community resources for food, shelter, and related needs.
