Job summary

Brown & Riding Insurance Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Associate Broker to support the wholesale brokerage team in casualty.

The role focuses on marketing submissions, obtaining quotes from carriers, and negotiating terms while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to clients. You will mentor junior staff, build carrier relationships, and maintain files in compliance with company policies. The position is based in our Los Angeles office with opportunities to handle complex accounts and advance

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 8 years of relevant insurance experience.
• Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines Licenses (as required by state).
• Exceptional organizational, follow-up, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional analytical skills to define problems, gather data, and draw conclusions efficiently.
• Proactive problem-solving with good listening and willingness to support others.
• Strong negotiation skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Able to interact with diverse personality and communication styles.
• Flexibility in work schedule and ability to adapt to changing demands.
• Independently manages time with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate skill level in PC software (Word, Excel and other software).

Responsibilities

• Marketing submissions, approaching carriers for quotes, and negotiating coverage for basic and complex accounts.
• Meet and exceed client expectations throughout the submission process.
• Gather and develop loss summaries and analysis as needed.
• Prepare high-quality, error-free submissions and present to underwriters.
• Ensure accuracy and timely quotes, binders, and marketing documentation.
• Communicate coverage terms clearly between clients and underwriters.
• Build and maintain carrier relationships with regular in-person contact.
