Job summary

The Senior Associate Broker at Brown & Riding will help market both basic and complex submissions, service active and expired policy files, and support retail clients in line with company values and procedures.

Key duties include preparing high‑quality submissions, negotiating coverage with carriers, managing client expectations, gathering loss data, and presenting quotes clearly to underwriters while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–8 years of relevant insurance experience.
• Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines licenses as required by state.
• Exceptional organizational, follow‑up, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather data, and form conclusions.
• Proactive problem‑solving with good listening and teamwork.
• Strong negotiation skills to influence at all levels.
• Ability to interact with diverse personalities and adapt to changing demands.
• Independently manage time with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with PC software (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Market basic and complex accounts by preparing submissions and negotiating coverage with carriers.
• Meet and exceed client expectations through the submission process and manage outcomes.
• Solicit timely responses from underwriters and provide updates to clients.
• Gather loss summaries and analysis as needed.
• Prepare high‑quality, error‑free submissions and present information to underwriters.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of quotes, binders, and documentation per QA and regulations.
• Train and guide junior staff; support broker on projects.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with retail clients, including in‑person meetings.
