Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Portable Climate Solutions Setup Technician to safely deliver, install, and remove climate control equipment at customer sites. You will ensure equipment is clean, organized, and ready to rent while upholding high safety standards.

The role includes planning daily delivery/pick-up, coordinating with customers and sales teams, and documenting progress using mobile devices. Requires basic HVAC knowledge, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of work experience using mechanical/technical skills.
• Basic equipment knowledge and troubleshooting – HVAC, Evaporative Cooling, Dehumidification, Heating, Air Purification, Remediation and Ventilation.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily delivery and pick-up schedules according to business needs.
• Prepare rental equipment and materials for shipment (yard prep).
• Represent Herc Rentals in communications with customers, Sales, and internal resources.
• Maintain tools and supplies to complete projects.
• Document projects with iPad, laptops, and voice recognition tools; update daily notes and reports.
• Safely drive, load and unload box trucks and vans; work overtime and on-call as needed.
• Attend Herc and manufacturer training as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
