Valley Queen is seeking a results-driven scientist to drive whey protein development from concept to commercialization. You will work across dairy science research, innovation, applications, and cost-out opportunities to monetize the opportunity and fuel growth.

You will lead bench, pilot, and plant trials, translate data into actionable next steps, and collaborate with suppliers on new technologies while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, chemistry, engineering, or related field and two years of dairy processing, dairy applications, dairy R&D or similar foods/products experience.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead technical and process aspects of projects from concept to launch in cross-functional teams.
• Independently plan and execute bench, pilot, and plant trials; document data for future reference.
• Develop new ideas and technical solutions for R&I and product category strategy.
• Provide ongoing technical support for new and existing products.
• Support process targets to meet product specs and yield goals; monitor and adjust as needed.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
• Explore opportunities to innovate via new processes/technologies.
• Develop product formulas and specifications; manage raw material specs and documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers to pursue new technologies and ingredients.
• Train cross-functional partners and champion new ways of working.
