Whey Processing Specialist — Vacation Relief

Job summary

Glanbia Nutritionals Inc. Gooding Whey Plant is seeking a Vacation Relief Operator to cover absences across the production line. You will operate whey processing equipment, collect samples, monitor quality, and assist with training of new operators.

The role requires the ability to work in hot, dusty conditions, stand for long shifts, and respond to equipment issues quickly. This is an hourly, on-site position with opportunities to support safety programs and maintain HACCP compliance.

Qualifications

• Computer experience helpful and basic literacy in plant records.
• Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to learn new tasks.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable and trustworthy with good attendance history.
• Ability to work in hot, dusty conditions and climb stairs as needed.
• Capable of operating and learning to operate all plant equipment.
• Accurate sampling and testing, with careful log documentation.
• Familiarity with operating process control equipment when required.
• Excellent safety, attendance and punctuality record expected.
• Must be able to stand and walk for the entire shift.
• Able to read and write English instructions and labels.
• Know proper use of cleaning chemicals and sanitation practices.
• Willing to work weekends and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently operate whey processing equipment.
• Collect and deliver samples to the laboratory.
• Monitor equipment and adjust to maintain quality.
• Troubleshoot equipment to improve efficiency.
• Operate and maintain CIP systems.
• Keep work area clean and uncluttered.
• Assist in training of new operators.
• Read SOPs and update them when necessary.
• Take readings and log equipment data.
• Support plant interior and exterior cleaning.
• Fill in for other employees during vacations or personal time.
• Know duties of all hourly positions within Gooding Whey.
• Report spills, safety hazards and equipment problems.
• Participate in HACCP and Food Safety teams.
