Job summary

Agropur seeks an Evaporator Operator II in Minnesota to safely and efficiently run whey evaporator equipment and support daily production. You will follow GMP, SOP, and HACCP protocols, monitor processes, document readings, and perform routine maintenance as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires strong attention to detail, basic math, and good communication. In-house training is provided. This is a full-time on-site position with benefits and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No experience required; in-house training provided.
• Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
• Ability to read, understand, and adhere to documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, SDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Basic math skills; able to input and retrieve information on a computer.
• Follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and required documentation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and regulations.
• Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge and ability to learn new skills quickly.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations and cleaning of equipment associated with the whey evaporator.
• Complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Follow GMP, SOP and HACCP programs.
• Monitor processes, materials or surroundings and review information in person or written form.
• Identify information by categorizing, estimating and recognizing changes or deviations.
• Perform operator level maintenance when needed.
• Understand and comply with Quality Assurance policies and report food safety issues.
• Follow startup procedure of equipment.
• Monitor whey flow and routing through systems to evaporator and crystallizer for drying into Whey Powder.
• Regulate factors such as whey solids and temperature; adjust as needed.
• Take readings and log variables.
• Operate Clean-In-Place (CIP) cycles.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Clean and sanitize all parts of Whey Evaporator department.
• Assist coworkers with training and tasks.
• Safety: stop unsafe acts and follow safety rules.
