Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a Wheels & tires Engineer to join the Chassis Engineering Design Team.

You will design and validate wheel and tire systems for SUVs, pickups, and off-road vehicles using CATIA V5, and collaborate with dynamics, suspension, brake, and body teams. Responsibilities include end-to-end development, TPMS integration, supplier coordination, and project leadership with DFMEA and DVP&R.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or automotive engineering required.
• Experience in chassis and suspension design with focus on wheel/tires.
• Experience with SUVs, pickups, or off-road vehicles preferred.
• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicle suspension systems beneficial.
• Strong ride/handling and NVH understanding for heavy vehicles.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and 2D/3D drawings.
• Familiarity with ENOVIA/ Windchill PLM systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end wheel and tire system design from concept to production.
• Modeling with CATIA V5/V6 and creating 2D drawings.
• Work with TPMS, braking, suspension interfaces and packaging.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEA, and DVP&R for wheel/tire systems.
• Support supplier collaboration and design validation activities.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
