Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an engineer to join the Chassis Engineering Design Team to design, develop, and validate brake systems for US SUV, pickup, and off-road vehicles.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure integration, durability, and reliability while supporting CAD, FEA, NVH, and packaging efforts. The role offers opportunities to mentor colleagues, lead design reviews, and collaborate with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Experience in chassis and brake system design.
• Experience with pickups, SUVs or off-road vehicles preferred.
• Experience with electric or hybrid brake systems.
• Knowledge of NVH, ride and handling for heavy vehicles.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools and PLM systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist end-to-end brake system design using CATIA V5.
• Support engineering analyses to predict performance and durability.
• Develop vehicle packaging concepts for brake components.
• Assist in validation plans, prototype builds and testing.
• Coordinate with suppliers and review CAD models.
• Support DFMEA/PFMEA and documentation efforts.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and product teams.
