Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in Michigan seeks an experienced Chassis Driveline Engineer to advance design, development, and validation of driveline systems for SUVs, pickups, and off‑road vehicles.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet durability, NVH, and performance targets. Responsibilities include end‑to‑end driveline design of transfer cases, axles, differentials; CAD modeling in CATIA V5/V6; creating DFMEAs; leading or mentoring teammates; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or automotive engineering required.
• 3+ years in chassis and suspension design with driveline focus.
• Experience with pickup trucks, SUVs, or off-road vehicles preferred.
• Knowledge of ride, handling, NVH for heavy‑duty trucks and SUVs.
• CAD proficiency and ability to create 2D/3D drawings with GD&T.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end driveline design for 4WD/AWD vehicles to meet performance targets.
• Develop axles, shafts, differentials, and torque management concepts.
• Support validation plans, bench tests, dynamometer tests, and field tests.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement design improvements.
• Create CAD models and 3D drawings in CATIA; prepare DFMEAs and specs.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Powertrain, Manufacturing and Quality.
