Job summary

United States Sugar Corp. is seeking a Loader/Equipment Operator to work in shifts with overtime, including nights, weekends and holidays, to ensure a continuous bagasse supply for mill boilers.

You will operate a large wheel loader, perform inspections, and carry out minor repairs while maintaining safety and teamwork in an outdoor plant environment. The role requires passing company aptitude tests, drug screening, and a 30-day certification window for forklift and skid steer.

Qualifications

• Must pass Company-designated tests for basic skills and job aptitude.
• Must be 18 years or older with no disqualifying disciplinary history.
• Must read, write and speak English to understand instructions and safety rules.
• New hires must pass drug testing and pre-employment background screening.
• Demonstrate physical ability to perform all essential job functions and obtain forklift/skid steer certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large wheel loader (>8 cubic yards) to move bagasse, compost and other materials as directed.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and document results in written reports.
• Operate various heavy equipment as needed and perform routine maintenance (refueling, lubrication, parts replacement, cleaning).
• Comply with company policies and health, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Complete safety trainings, pre-shift meetings, and required certifications.
