Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking experienced Wetland Delineators to support projects across the greater Southwest US.

Ideal candidates will conduct field investigations related to wetland delineation, waterbody assessments, vegetation mapping, and data analysis, contributing to environmental reports on time and within budget. These full-time roles include field and desktop work, travel within the Southwest, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience routinely performing wetland/water field studies for private or public sector projects in the environmental consulting industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Botany, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a closely related discipline.
• Knowledge of Clean Water Act and related regulatory policies and field assessment protocols.
• Familiarity with Endangered Species Acts, NEPA, and CWA permits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wetland/water jurisdictional delineation surveys, vegetation mapping and general biological site assessments.
• Participate in data analysis and report preparation under supervision.
• Utilize GPS-based field data platforms and other tools for field studies.
• Assist with technical report preparation and data management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and field subconsultants.
• Read and interpret industry protocols and governmental regulations.
