Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Wet Process Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Hopewell Junction, NY. You will work with Wet Process, Equipment, Manufacturing and IE teams on projects aimed at improving factory productivity, equipment reliability and process stability.

The role is for a Junior or Senior undergraduate student in EE, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Support projects that reduce non-value-added activities and improve manufacturing productivity.
• Analyze equipment performance, utilization, downtime and operational metrics to identify improvements.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs and performance tracking.
• Monitor production performance and identify trends impacting output, cycle time, and tool availability.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Analyze equipment alarm history and identify recurring issues impacting performance.
• Support efforts to reduce alarms and improve tool reliability.
• Evaluate PM effectiveness and optimise maintenance intervals and procedures.
• Collect/analyse manufacturing and process data to improve uptime and performance.
• Participate in root cause investigations related to excursions, defects or yield loss.
• Support implementation and validation of corrective actions.
• Gain exposure to wet processing operations, evaluating process performance and efficiency opportunities.
• Observe/problem-solve yield, defects, contamination control and equipment performance.
• Present updates to engineering/management; collect data and generate reports.
