onsemi is offering a Summer 2027 System Engineer internship at the Central Utility Plant in Hopewell Junction, NY. The role supports the Facilities Engineering team with reliability, energy management, and capital projects within a 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Energy Engineering and seek hands-on experience across utility systems with flexible scheduling to fit academic commitments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Energy Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support Central Utility Plant (CUP) engineering tasks in a 24/7 manufacturing setting.
• Assist with reliability initiatives and preventive maintenance optimization.
• Analyze data and prepare reports to identify trends and opportunities.
• Participate in energy conservation and sustainability projects.
• Assist in development and revision of drawings, procedures and documents.
• Support equipment inspections, audits and reliability assessments.
• Contribute to capital improvement and infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
• Create and maintain engineering spreadsheets, dashboards and performance metrics.
• Track utility consumption and support cost-reduction efforts.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, contractors and engineering staff.
