Job summary

A local school district is seeking a Substitute Custodian for the 2025-2026 school year. This part-time position requires candidates to have a high school diploma and previous cleaning/maintenance experience. Responsibilities include cleaning various areas, performing minor repairs, and ensuring safe practices. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean furniture, fixtures, walls, windows, lockers, and light fixtures.

Job Description

This position is on call and as needed throughout the school year. Qualified candidates must be able to provide verifiable previous experience in cleaning/maintenance, as well as demonstrate knowledge of basic safe practices and sanitary cleaning procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• Two professional references
• BCI & FBI background checks (dated within the past 12 months, on file with the Ohio Department of Education, can be conducted by Renhill Group for one of the area’s lowest rates ($55), if you do not already have them.)

Necessary Skills / Duties

• Physically able to bend, balance, stoop, stretch, climb, crouch, kneel, reach, stand, and lift up to 70 pounds
• Familiar with building systems such as alarms and HVAC
• Dry mop/wash floors, clean furniture, fixtures, walls, windows, lockers, partitions, light fixtures, and display cases
• Ability to read MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) information
• Perform minor repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance activities
