Job summary

GLOVIS America, Inc. in West Point, GA is seeking a VPC Team Lead to support the VPC Supervisor and coordinate daily tasks on the Entry, Line, and Exit sides. You will guide team members, ensure proper training, and keep operations running smoothly during shifts.

This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma/G.E.D.
• Must have valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assist Supervisor with process issues and alert higher-ups of concerns.
• Lead team members on the Entry/Line/Exit sides and ensure tools are available.
• Train team members and communicate process changes to staff.
• Assist with shift start/end duties and personnel matters.
• Participate in pre-shift team meetings and enforce safety rules.
• Monitor line inventory and support driver training as needed.

Summary

VPC Team Lead is responsible for assisting VPC Supervisor and leading team members in their daily processes on the VPC Entry Side, the VPC Line, and also the VPC Exit Side. VPC Team Lead must be able to perform some of the day to day activities of the supervisor in his absence.

Primary

• Assist Supervisor with process issues, alert Supervisor and AM of any processing/PDI concerns immediately.
• Team lead must be able to perform every job on the VPC Entry Side, the VPC Line, and the VPC Exit Side.
  • Leads team members in their daily tasks.
  • Makes sure every team member has the necessary tools to perform the job.
  • Makes sure everyone is properly trained on their job.
  • Communicate any process change to team members.
• Assist Supervisor
  • Must be able to assist supervisor with personnel issue.
  • Must be able to perform some of the day to day activities of the supervisor in his absence.
  • Must assist with shift start and shift end duties.

Secondary

• Communicate and review processes/procedures in place on a regular basis and correct if necessary. Lead Processing/PDI team members on a daily basis and ensure all PDI processes are being followed to meet customer expectations.
• Conduct daily pre-shift TEAM meetings (Exit Side and/or Entry Side) and communicate any process changes and/or updates to team members.
• Ensure everybody is in dress code and trained to fulfil their job duties in an efficient and safe manner.
• During shift, Team Lead must be visible and available for any questions coming from team members, Supervisor, or AM.
• Assist team members and Supevisor by checking line inventory and alerting Warehouse if reference material and throw-in levels are low.
• Drive in/out with trainees (at end of their training) to verify new driver's training has been thorough and successfully completed.
• Monitor seasoned drivers to ensure processes and safety procedures are in place and being followed.

Tertiary

• Communicate effectively with customers, Supervisors, and fellow team members to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Keep Line Stops and Missed Chocks at a minimum and discuss any concerns with Supervisor and/or AM.
• Conduct daily Exit and Entry Side Audits to ensure customer expectations are met.
