POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The West Module Sales Manager is responsible for driving business through the sales of C&I (Commercial and Industrial) and Residential photovoltaic (PV) modules in the Western region. Targeting the C&I market, community, as well as utility-scale, this position develops sales pipelines to generate and increase PV module sales in the respective regions. This position reports to the Head of C&I Module Sales or another senior management personnel designated by the President of the Company. While this is a remote position, the responsibilities require approximately 50%travel, including reporting to the NJ office on an as-needed basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Capitalize on HQCA’s existing solar business to identify and develop plans.
  2. Pursue new opportunities for growth in Western solar markets with a focus on selling Qcells modules into large commercial and industrial rooftop and ground mount projects; and/or developing new customers with channel partners to achieve pull-in sales from small-to-large-sized solar contractors.
  3. Prioritize new customers among developers, contractors, and roof installers; prioritize opportunities by geography and approach with an emphasis on expansion.
  4. Manage relationships and communicate with key customers to identify their needs and requirements, including purchase orders, account receivables, technical support, and logistics.
  5. Observe RFP opportunities; build and manage the pipeline of sales opportunities.
  6. Conduct deep analysis and understand current market dynamics and needs, which is critical for Qcells' overall strategy in North America.
  7. Develop go-to-market strategies, including identification of and approach to strategic partners and customers in the C&I sector.
  8. Define the business model and standard contract terms, and work with the Marketing Department to define and execute marketing campaigns.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of C&I Module Sales.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business or electrical, power-related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of sales or business development experience in the solar industry, preferably at the community and/or utility scale.
  3. Ability to develop PV business with utility and commercial developers.
  4. Willingness to travel at least 50%.
  5. Creative drive for entrepreneurial opportunities and flexibility to work with various customer types.
  6. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 5+ years of experience working with Tier 1 solar manufacturers or relevant industries such as inverter or racking; experience in sales, planning, development, or procurement is a plus!
  2. Experience in selling solar modules for utility or commercial projects.
  3. Substantial network within Midwestern US solar markets.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  5. Excellent understanding of US PV market dynamics and industry.
  6. Comfortable with external interfacing, including executive presentations, negotiations, and contractual reviews.
  7. Ability to structure, negotiate, grow, and complete multimillion-dollar account relationships.
  8. High professionalism and conduct at all times.
