Job summary

OPH is seeking a Cook for the West Loop location in Chicago, IL. The role requires weekend and holiday availability. Responsibilities include setting up station, preparing ingredients, and ensuring food quality and sanitary standards throughout the shift.

You will work with other cooks to time orders correctly and assist with deliveries and stock as needed. Prior kitchen experience is preferred, and English communication is required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three months to one year related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend guest checks, simple instructions, and memos. Must be able to communicate in English with other employees about orders and work-related situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide simple problems using weights and measures.

Responsibilities

• Sets up all items in his/her station in the kitchen.
• Performs prep work: cuts/dices meats and vegetables, slices cheese, and prepares sauces.
• Cooks food complying with portion sizes, quality standards, and cooking procedures.
• Works with servers to ensure each order is cooked as requested.
• Maintains a sanitary workstation and cleans the station at shift end.
• Assists other cooks and reads directions from management.
