Job summary

Via is seeking a Director of Strategy & Operations to lead a West Coast portfolio and build a scalable regional operating model. You will manage Field Operations Managers initially, then expand to General Managers and Operations Managers, shaping strategy, assuring safety and service quality, and partnering with transit agencies and central teams.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s Degree, and ~25% travel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an operational leadership role, ideally with P&L responsibility.
• Bachelor’s Degree with exceptional academic achievement.
• Experience leading high-growth or transformation environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel ~25% across the West Coast.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a regional team with clear expectations and accountability.
• Own regional P&L outcomes in partnership with Finance and GMs; manage revenue hours, costs, and margins.
• Translate regional priorities into actionable market strategies and growth initiatives.
• Serve as a senior operational partner to agency leadership and manage stakeholder relations.
