Job summary

JPMorgan Chase seeks a Vice President in the Special Credit Group to lead workout strategies for defaulted CRE loans, primarily West Coast properties. You will drive portfolio and asset level actions, coordinate with legal, servicing, and asset management, and guide junior staff.

You will ensure compliance with bank policies, elevate reporting quality, and influence senior stakeholders through rigorous analysis and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years in real estate lending, CRE exposure and workouts preferred.
• Deep understanding of CRE valuation concepts and methodologies.
• Experience with property cash flow analysis, DSCR and sensitivity modeling.
• Advanced Excel for financial modeling; solid Word/Access skills.
• Strong negotiation skills with borrowers and third parties.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of risk rating methodologies and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end workout strategies for defaulted CRE loans to maximize recoveries.
• Execute restructures, discounted payoffs, note sales, and foreclosures with teams.
• Oversee non‑performing assets per risk rating policies and audits.
• Perform property‑level and portfolio cash flow analysis and valuation.
• Lead special assignments, policy updates, and training for analysts.
• Design analytic frameworks and management reports for senior leaders.
• Negotiate with borrowers and sponsors for value‑maximizing outcomes.
• Provide technical response to inquiries and resolve system issues.
• Prepare portfolio status reports for Senior Management and governance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, and reputational policies.
