Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Vice President - Lead Credit Officer in its Real Estate Banking team in San Francisco. You will lead transaction-level credit review and ongoing portfolio oversight for developers, owners, operators, and sponsors, managing exposure across real estate assets and related facilities.

You will require CRE underwriting expertise, strong analysis of financial statements, and the ability to present complex credit rationale to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CRE underwriting, lending, or credit risk experience.
• Asset-level and portfolio credit expertise in CRE.
• Advanced knowledge of financial statements and accounting.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to articulate credit rationale.

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction-level credit due diligence for new facilities and recapitalizations.
• Drive credit approval, challenge key assumptions, identify risks and mitigants.
• Defend credit rationale with senior leadership in approval committees.
• Ensure end-to-end credit processes for new loan closings and amendments.
• Mentor junior members and provide timely feedback on analyses.
• Maintain oversight of credit relationships, exposure, collateral and risks.
• Own rating quality and governance with consistent documentation.
• Coordinate with treasury and derivatives to monitor related exposures.
• Review loan/derivative docs and support negotiation with internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidance.
