Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate (CRE) underwriting, lending, credit risk, or similar financial services.
• CRE industry expertise at asset-level and portfolio credit.
• Advanced knowledge of financial statements and accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial products, corporate finance, and market dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to articulate credit rationale and risks.
• Ability to present analyses to stakeholders clearly.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction-level credit due diligence for new facilities (recapitalizations, acquisitions, construction, and general corporate purposes).
• Drive the credit approval process by reviewing assumptions, risks, mitigants, and structure/terms; escalate as needed.
• Articulate and defend credit rationale with senior leadership in approval committee meetings and portfolio reviews.
• Ensure end-to-end credit processes for new loan closings and amendments are timely; contribute to drafting and refining credit memos.
• Mentor and coach junior team members on credit analyses and approval materials.
• Serve as escalation point for Portfolio Management on monitoring issues and maintain comprehensive credit relationship oversight.
• Own risk rating quality and governance across assigned clients; ensure rationals supported and documentation aligns with standards.
• Coordinate with product partners to monitor exposures and terms.
• Review loan and derivative documentation and support negotiation with internal partners to reflect terms.
• Ensure compliance with audit and internal policies.
