Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in the United States seeks an Associate in the Special Credit Group to support defaulted and non-performing CRE loan management, perform complex credit analysis, and shape liquidation strategies in line with risk and regulatory policies.

You will collaborate with credit, legal, asset management, and servicing teams across the West Coast, deliver executive-ready reporting, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline.
• 2+ years’ experience in real estate lending, financing, underwriting, loan review, and/or loan workouts.
• Understanding of CRE valuation methods (income approach, comps, cost) and cap/discount rate development.
• Experience with property cash flow analysis and pro forma modeling for various property types.
• Excel skills for financial modeling; Word and Access for documentation and data management.

Responsibilities

• Support portfolio management and liquidation strategies for defaulted and non‑performing CRE loans.
• Perform complex real estate‑based financial analysis and identify risk for credit decisions and risk ratings.
• Prepare and present credit actions with recommendations for restructuring, exit, or future business.
• Identify, quantify, and escalate key risks, ensuring alignment with policies.
• Develop property‑level business plans for post‑foreclosure assets and support execution.
• Drive non‑routine financial analysis and reporting projects for leadership.
• Collaborate with legal and third‑party advisors on workout structures and collateral enforcement.
• Maintain accurate portfolio tracking and senior management reporting.
• Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to expedite resolutions.
