Job summary

Responsibilities

• Pull next piece in line; ensure all supplies, cushions and backs are with the piece.
• Conduct initial inspection to assure cover matches ticket on piece, including cushions and backs.
• Assure grain runs straight with no lumps, holes, or cat tracks.
• Permanently attach fabric with staples; maintain quality and production goals.
• Re-check parts before starting; reject if incorrect.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment per guidelines.
• Other duties assigned by Management.

# Welt UpholstererHot JobPlant 2 Upholstery Plant - Lenoir, NC 28645## OverviewPosition TypeFull TimeCategoryManufacturing## DescriptionWelt upholsters adds welt to furniture such as sofas, chairs, ottomans, benches and chairs by adding fabric welt to furniture according to design.**Key Responsibilities:*** Pull next piece available in line-all supplies, cushions and backs are already with the piece.* Conduct initial inspection to assure cover matches ticket on piece, including cushions and backs* Assure that grain runs straight, no lumps, holes, or cat tracks* Permanently attaches the fabric with staples* Must maintain high quality standards while achieving production goal* Prior to starting on piece, re-check to assure all parts in piece are correct. If not reject.* Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend for 8 hours or more daily. Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers and eyes to assemble upholstered furniture* Able to use common upholstery tools such as air powered staple guns, mauls, hammers, scissors, regulators, brass nail guns, tack pullers, glue gun etc.* Ability to use all common upholstery tools to perform traditional outside upholstery of leather and fabric furniture of various styles* Maintain a clean, safe working environment according to department safety guidelines* Any other duties assigned by a member of the Management Team.## Qualifications**Qualification requirements*** At least 2 years of hands on inside/outside Upholstery experience* Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook to Intermediate level* Effective communication & interpersonal skills required to build relationships across the business* Demonstrate use of upholstery tools* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail* Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills* Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills* Effective organizational, stress and time management skills* Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines* Ability to work independently or as a team member* Ability to read work instructions**Physical demands and abilities*** Prolonged standing/walking/bending required and lifting up to 50 pounds* Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
