Job summary

Chevron is actively hiring entry-level Wells Engineers for the Horizons program across multiple U.S. locations, including Bakersfield. Roles blend field assignments with office engineering tasks such as drilling, completions, and well intervention engineering.

Responsibilities include cost estimation, design of drilling bits and strings, casing/cement planning, and mud program optimization. The Horizons program accelerates knowledge, skills and confidence in the first 3–5 years of your career.

Qualifications

• Pursuing the final year of Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degrees.
• Strong academic performance in core programs, communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Position may require driving on a routine basis.
• Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Drill Site Representatives for on-site drilling operations.
• Serve as Well Site Representatives for on-site frac spreads and well intervention operations.
• Office assignments can include drilling engineer, completions engineer, or well intervention engineer.
• Perform cost estimation, design of bit/string, casing and cement, and mud program design.
