Job summary

Chevron Corporation – Wells Engineering Intern program is seeking students to work on real projects in offices with drilling or completions engineers and other groups. The role may include time on a rig or in the Decision Support Center in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities include optimization studies, data analysis, and collaboration across teams to deliver value-added solutions. The program offers furnished housing, flexible schedules, and exposure to career opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance in core technical programs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate the Chevron Way.

  • Conduct optimization studies, project look-back reviews, tool case studies, well design reviews, safety and environmental performance studies, and contractor analyses.
  • Collaborate with drilling or completions engineers and functional groups to provide value-added solutions.

  • Participate in safety and technology culture initiatives.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting as required by the project.
  • Support project documentation and quality requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of project deliverables.
  • Drive on a routine basis as required for the role.

Wells Engineering Intern

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $31.75, with a monthly range of approximately $9,200.

  • Furnished housing.
  • Participation in the Employee Savings Investment Plan with immediate vesting of employee and company contributions.
  • Flexible work schedules (5/40, 9/80, or 4/10) as determined by the hiring team.
  • Paid holidays based on the work schedule.
  • Credit for each internship completion (must be re‑employed within 365 days).
