Job summary

Asbury Methodist Village, part of Asbury Communities, Inc., seeks a full-time wellness instructor to lead group and individual fitness with tailored programs for residents in a supportive retirement community.

The role includes teaching various classes, coordinating wellness events, and promoting the Asbury Well-Being model while collaborating with staff on lifestyle initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience in group or individual health and fitness instruction and event coordination.
• 3-7+ years' experience in wellness programs preferred.
• CPR/AED certification; certifications such as ACSM, ACE, NASM preferred.
• Group fitness instruction or personal training certification required.
• Strong data analysis, program evaluation, and communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one group fitness assessments and tailor programs to residents.
• Teach classes including boxing and related activities and assist with well-being programs.
• Assist in planning, implementing, and promoting wellness events and calendars.
• Coordinate scheduling of well-being contractors and participate in committee meetings.
• Support lifestyle initiatives and promote the Asbury Well-Being model.
• Conduct one-on-one sessions.

Hours and Pay

• Full-Time, 80 hours bi-weekly
• Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
• Occasional nights & weekends for special events
• $21.00/hour

Job Description

• Conducts one-on-one group fitness assessments; recommends individualized fitness programs tailored to each resident's ability levels.
• Teaches a variety of exercise classes including boxing, Rock Steading boxing and assists with on-going well-being programs including pool operations and scheduling.
• Assists in the planning, implementation and promotion of all well-being events; responsible for weekly and monthly fitness/event calendar creation and distribution.
• Responsible for coordination and scheduling of well-being contractors.
• Participates in Well-Being Committee meetings; Assists Well-Being Director in implementing Lifestyle initiatives and promoting the Asbury Well-Being model.
• Conduct one on one sessions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Bachelors degree preferred.
• One (1) year experience in group or individual health and fitness instruction and event coordination.
• 3-7+ years' experience in wellness programs preferred.
• CPR/AED Certification.
• Certifications: CPR, AED, ACSM, ACE, NASM or wellness coaching credentials preferred.
• Group fitness instruction and/or Personal Training Certification required.
• Data Analysis, program evaluation, and great communication skills highly preferred.
