Job summary

Plus One, an Optum company, seeks an energetic Exercise Specialist for a high-profile fitness center in Houston, TX. You will conduct fitness consultations, develop progressive programming, and coach safe equipment use to deliver a exceptional member experience.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in exercise science or a NCCA-certified credential, current CPR/First Aid, and MS Office skills. You will complete internal courses and contribute to a supportive wellness culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Industry knowledge in exercise testing and prescription, and ability to operate fitness tools.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting to recommend fitness programming and wellness services.
• Develop progressive fitness programming to support and motivate participants and ensure a positive experience.
• Instruct participants on safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength equipment.
• Educate participants on health and fitness information and available programs.
• Complete internal development courses through the LMS.
• Maintain high-quality customer and client experience.
