Job summary

Plus One, an Optum company, seeks an energetic Exercise Specialist for its fitness center in the greater Portland, ME area. You will conduct fitness consultations, create progressive programming and coach members in safe equipment use.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Knowledge of exercise testing and prescription and ability to operate fitness tools.
Ability to network, engage and interact with clients, guests and members.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing fitness consultations with movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting.
Develop progressive fitness programming to support and motivate participants.
Monitor and instruct participants on safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength equipment.
Educate participants on health and fitness information and available programs.
Complete internal development courses through the LMS.
Maintain positive customer and client experience with high-quality service.
