Job summary

YMCA in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Part-time Healthy Living Coordinator to support Youth and Adult programs. Under the Healthy Living Director, you will recruit and supervise staff and volunteers, assist in hiring, and help expand group exercise offerings.

Responsibilities include staying current in CPR/First Aid, mentoring staff, maintaining incident reports, and promoting wellness initiatives while ensuring safety and adherence to YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• College degree or working towards degree in a health-related program preferred; high school education or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• YMCA Living Our Cause for Frontline Leaders and YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise or National Certification/YMCA Strength and Conditioning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a good rapport with fitness program participants to respond to their needs.
• Recruit new fitness employees to ensure adequate provision of qualified staff.
• Assist Director with Annual Healthy Living Trackers.
• Maintain accurate incident/accident reports.
• Monitor certifications for all fitness staff.
• Consult with members interested in personal training program and assist HL program director in assigning trainers.
• Create ways to expand the group exercise programs.
• Work with volunteers for the Healthy Living program.
• Assist with fitness seminars, clinics and special events when possible.
• Help enforce YMCA policies and practices in wellness center.
• Attend staff meetings as requested by the program director.
• Orient new staff to association and branch procedures.
• Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers.
