Job summary

Greater Joliet Area YMCA seeks a Wellness Attendant to welcome members, guide wellness goals, and support a positive fitness journey. In this role you’ll build meaningful relationships, coach behavior change, and celebrate progress in a friendly environment.

You will share wellness program information, help create personalized plans, maintain equipment, and respond to emergencies, all while upholding YMCA policies and fostering inclusion.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, and epi-pen certifications required.
• Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge in basic fitness and nutrition concepts.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with diverse members.

Responsibilities

• Creates a welcoming environment and builds relationships with members.
• Coaches members toward behavior change and tracks progress.
• Shares wellness program information using available resources.
• Answers questions and helps members set personalized health plans.
• Identifies member successes and maintains equipment per schedule.
• Follows YMCA policies and responds to emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
