Wellness Center Technician (Graduate Assistant)

The Wellness Center Technician (Graduate Assistant) is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Wellness Center facilities, equipment, and dressing rooms, and for supervising a team of student technicians. This role reports to the Assistant Director of Sports and Wellness.

Essential Functions

• Complete scheduled walkthroughs as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Sports and Wellness.
• Schedule repairs and maintenance (outsourced and in-house).
• Supervise the student technician staff.
• Assist the Assistant Director and Director in the interview process of student technician staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Understanding of fitness equipment and basic repair procedures.
• Adherence to all applicable university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Required Education

Current UIW graduate student.

Required Work Experience

• One (1) or more years of work experience in the fitness and wellness industry.
• Working knowledge of fitness equipment and tools.
• Supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

None.

Required Certifications

Current CPR and First Aid Certification (if expired, must be completed within 3 months of employment).

Work Hours

• Hours are flexible with work completed during open facility hours.
• Must be available for openings, weekends and evenings, and be on-call as duties require.
• Required to cover holiday and school break schedules as required by the Director and Assistant Director of Sports and Wellness.
• Required to work 20 hours per week.

Physical Demands

This position requires manual labor with the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Salary

Tuition Waiver and $13.00 per hour over 20 hours, up to 25 hours.
