Job summary

The Schenectady YMCA is seeking a dynamic Full-Time Wellness Coordinator to lead and evaluate Wellness Center programs, supervise staff, and ensure excellent member experiences on-site at 433 State St, Schenectady, NY. This role shapes program quality and staff performance within the YMCA's wellness offerings.

Requirements include a BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience, 2 years in wellness, supervisory experience, and current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Physical Ed., Recreation, Sports Mgt., or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Two years of previous experience in the wellness field or related field.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required.
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs for the Wellness department.
• Supervise the wellness center staff and facilities.
• Assist in scheduling of assigned staff.
• Provide orientation and training to newly hired staff.
• Provide program assistance to all members and staff, including trainings.
• Assist with maintenance and ensuring staff assist with cleaning.
• Regularly inventory Wellness equipment and make recommendations for new equipment.
• Promote the utilization and effectiveness of the Wellness Center and its equipment to all participants.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, and evaluation of all new wellness staff.
• Build authentic relationships with members; help members connect with CDYMCA.
• Follow CDYMCA policies and respond to emergencies.
