Job summary

The Lake Superior YMCA seeks a part-time Wellness Center Coach in Downtown Duluth, MN to deliver strength and cardiovascular training in a safe, engaging environment. You will respond to member needs, promote wellness, ensure equipment safety, and help members reach their healthy living goals.

Key qualifications include CPR/First Aid/AED, strong communication, customer service experience, and a BAS or higher in a related field or nationally recognized certification.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required; training provided upon hire and must be obtained within 60 days.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; detail oriented.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service; ability to multi-task.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Conducts consultations, fitness evaluations, basic orientations, and teen orientations.
• Builds authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living.
• Communicates and enforces policies for the equipment area and keeps it safe, clean, and functional.
• Maintains knowledge of wellness trends to support member retention.
• Applies YMCA policies; ensures safety and responds to emergencies.
• Fosters an inclusive environment and supports equity and diversity.
