YMCA of Central Massachusetts is seeking a Wellness Center Associate for the Central Community Branch's Wellness team in Fitchburg. The role focuses on welcoming members, promoting wellness, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment in accordance with YMCA policies.

Responsibilities include greeting members, providing equipment orientations, and ensuring cleanliness and safety. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain),

Competenze

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Educational background in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education or related field preferred but not required.
• Hold current CPR and First Aid certifications or willing to be certified.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to work positively with members and staff is a must.
• Personal Trainer Certification is highly preferred and is a PLUS!!

• Must be knowledgeable of fitness activities and equipment to explain them.
• Follows opening and closing procedures for the Fitness Center.

• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the Fitness Center; reports repairs to supervisor.
• Organizes each room with proper equipment during hourly walkthroughs.
• Replenishes supplies such as towels, water cups, and disinfecting wipes.
• Enforces Wellness Center Rules & Regulations.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• May be asked to perform other related duties.

Are you a quick learner and do you enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals? Do you have a passion for wellness? If so, come join the YMCA Central Community Branch's Wellness team!
The Wellness Center Associate at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining safe conditions and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Essential Functions

• Meets and greets all members and guests of the Fitness Center with the upmost attentiveness and courtesy
• Provides outstanding service to our members and their guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Must be knowledgeable of Fitness activities and equipment to adequately explain them to members and guests.
• Follows opening and closing procedures for Fitness Center.
• Quickly learns member's names and greets members and guests by name.
• Performs equipment orientations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of Fitness Center. Reports to supervisor any equipment needing repair.
• Organizes each room with the proper equipment during hourly “Walk throughs”
• Replenishes supplies such as towels, water cups, and disinfecting wipes.
• Enforces Wellness Center Rules & Regulations.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.

Qualifications

Job Type: Part-time
Schedule: Hours may vary depending on needs of Facility. Please let us know your availability when filling out the application!
Pay: $15.00 per hour. Plus, access to YMCA facilities for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave
