Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County (Ohio) is seeking a part-time health and wellness professional to engage members in achieving total well-being through fun strategies. The role offers varied weekday day, afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend shifts in our Wellness Center in Canton, Ohio.

The starting rate is $11.30/hr. Candidates should promote safe, positive experiences for members, with background in exercise science preferred but training available.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be able to provide service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes healthy member well-being and engagement
• Experience working with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
• Background in exercise science or related field preferred, but willing to train

Responsibilities

• Build effective relationships with members
• Maintain working knowledge of wellness trends
• Maintain safe environment and functioning exercise equipment
• Take initiative to help members reach their goals
• Monitor Wellness Center as directed
• Part-time staff receive complimentary memberships and discounted rates for child care and most programs
