Job summary

Flanigan’s Enterprises is seeking service-minded staff to join our restaurant team. As a server, you will welcome guests, take and enter orders, and deliver food and drinks with speed and courtesy.

You will uphold safety standards, stay knowledgeable about menus and promotions, and assist teammates as needed. A valid Florida vendor and food safety certification are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must complete Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with company and Florida statutes.
• Must complete and pass food safety certification program.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support colleagues in maintaining table appearance and running food/drink as needed.
• Be knowledgeable about menus, promotions, and answer guests' questions clearly.
• Accurately write down guests' orders and enter into POS system in a timely manner.
• Retrieve orders from kitchen/bar and deliver to guests promptly.
• Assess guests' demeanor and know when to summon a Manager.
• Collect payments and ensure transactions are correct using POS; give accurate change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
