Job summary

Flanigan’s is hiring a server in Wellington, FL. You will welcome guests, take orders, and deliver meals with a focus on accuracy and hospitality.

Responsibilities include POS entry, teamwork, and maintaining a spotless dining area. Florida food safety and vendor certifications are required, with a friendly, service-first attitude emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand or walk for the full shift.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read/write English; communicate clearly.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems is a plus.
• Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certs are required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support team to maintain table appearance and service flow.
• Know menu items, promos, and answer guests' questions clearly.
• Accurately take orders and enter them into the POS.
• Deliver orders promptly from kitchen/bar to guests.
• Assess guest demeanor and involve a manager when needed.
• Handle payments and give correct change; ensure accuracy.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
