Job summary

The Baker Company in Sanford, ME is seeking a Value Stream Supervisor for Weld & Grind/Polish. This hands-on leadership role will oversee welding and polish operations, develop welders, and ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent manufacturing experience and at least five years of TIG welding plus supervisory experience. 1st shift hours are 6:50am to 3:10pm, Monday to Friday. Salary ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 USD per year.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
Five years of TIG welding and supervisory experience is required.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with Lean manufacturing is preferred.
Must be able to multitask and guide a team to actionable solutions.

Responsibilities

Direct supervision of assigned employees including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
Support plant teams with goal-setting and tracking for Continuous Improvement measures.
Manage unscheduled equipment downtime and drive improvements to reduce downtime.
Apply Lean tools to improve line capacity, efficiency, and reliability.
Use KPIs to drive operations and improve processes.
Coordinate safety, training, and production standards across the department.
Mentor teams to solve problems and eliminate waste.
