Job Title: Welding Technology Engineer
Location:Cucciago (CO)
Welding Technology Engineer oversees the Design and Development of Laser Welding Technology.
He supports colleagues in the Technical Area responsible for the Design and Development of Laser Welding Systems and Laser Welding Enabling Technologies.
Collaborates with other Technology Engineers in charge of other Processing Technologies (e.g. Laser Cutting), sharing with them Design and Technology Development Methods and Tools, as well as collaborating with them for the continuous improvement of the aforementioned Methods and Tools.
Main responsibilities
- Development of Laser Welding Technology: design of experiments, execution of experiments, data analysis, definition of models, definition of process specifications
- Support for the design of Welding Systems and the Laser Welding Enabling Technologies integrated in them.
- Support in defining the best technical configuration for the customer.
- Coordination of internal research activities or with external partners/research centres aimed at the development of both Laser Welding Technology and methods and Tools for the continuous improvement of Processing Technologies.
Main activities
- Carries out tests and technological trials related to Laser Welding technology;
- Designs, implements and validates models (analytical, experimental, FEM) to describe the Laser Welding Process
- Contributes to the realisation of tests and trials for the validation of the functionality of Laser Welding Systems and related Enabling Technologies
- Designs and carries out feasibility studies aimed at defining the best configuration of the Welding System according to the Customer's Product specifications;
- Performs Demos, Training and Testing for Customers
Must have
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physical Engineering;
- Skills related to Design and Analysis of Experiments: Methods (e.g., Design of Experiments, Analysis of Variance, Response Surface Methodology) and Tools (e.g., R, Minitab);
- Skills related to materials characterization: metallurgical analysis, destructive and non-destructive testing, Positive Material Identification, mechanical analysis;
- Excellent knowledge of the English language;
- Aptitude for laboratory work, testing, research and development on industrial machines, machine tools and prototypes;
- Skills related to programming (both offline and online) of robotic systems.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in the use of industrial robots;
- Previous experience in the use of industrial laser power systems;
- Organisation, drafting and management of research projects and technical documentation;
- PhD in Engineering;
- Diploma of International Welding Engineer (IWE).
Requisiti fondamentali
- Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Meccanica, Ingegneria Meccatronica, Ingegneria dei Materiali, Ingegneria Elettronica, Ingegneria Fisica;
- Competenze relative alla progettazione ed analisi degli esperimenti: metodi (ad esempio Design of Experiments, Analysis of Variance, Response Surface Metodology) e Strumenti (ad esempio R, Minitab);
- Competenze relative alla caratterizzazione dei materiali: analisi metallurgiche, prove distruttive e non, Positive Material Identification, analisi meccaniche;
- Ottima conoscenza della lingua Inglese;
- Attitudine ad attività di laboratorio, testing, ricerca e sviluppo su macchine industriali, macchine utensili e prototipi;
- Competenze relative alla programmazione (sia offline che online) di sistemi robotizzati .
Requisiti preferenziali
- Precedenti esperienze di uso di robot industriali,di sistemi laser industriali di potenza;
- Organizzazione, stesura e gestione di progetti di ricerca e di documentazione tecnica;
- Dottorato di Ricerca in Ingegneria;
- Diploma di International Welding Engineer (IWE).
