Job summary

EIMCo in Farley, IA is seeking a welding technician to join the manufacturing team. You will set up welding equipment, fabricate jigs, and perform first-piece inspections to ensure product quality.

The role requires the ability to coordinate with the supervisor and fellow welders to meet production needs while maintaining safety and file documentation in the ERP system. You will weld parts (manual or robotic) per specifications, complete daily production records, and follow all shop travelers,

Qualifications

• One to two years welding experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, but not required.
• Mechanical skills background is required.
• Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Check with supervisor on machine and job assignment.
• Discuss machine performance and shift issues with the welder from the preceding shift.
• Set up welding equipment per specified procedures and within acceptable requirements.
• Fabricate welding jigs when necessary.
• Create inspection checklist for first-time jobs.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and obtain QC approval before proceeding.
• Weld parts manually or robotically according to specifications.
• Unload and package parts per EIMCo standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily records in ERP and Shop Travelers.
