Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas in Montgomery, Alabama seeks an experienced Welder for an onsite role. You will weld, fit, fabricate, and read blueprints to ensure safety, quality, and productivity in production.

This position requires MIG welding proficiency (TIG a plus), reading weld symbols, and using measuring tools. You will collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to meet customer requirements and continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with MIG welding; TIG welding experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
• Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and gauges.
• Working knowledge of fabrication equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, fitting, fabrication, and related production activities using applicable welding processes and equipment.
• Read and follow work orders, drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and production instructions.
• Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, grinding, cutting, positioning, fitting, and tack welding.
• Set up and safely operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and other applicable hand and power tools.
• Perform fit-up and assembly of components prior to welding.
• Inspect completed work for proper dimensions, fit, weld appearance, and conformance to applicable quality requirements.
