Job summary

Fibrebond, an Eaton company in Minden, LA, is hiring a Welding Technician to join our Fibrebond team. The role involves setting up and performing advanced welding and fabrication on ferrous and non‑ferrous metals for modular buildings and enclosures, complying with Eaton’s safety and quality standards.

The position supports 54 core hours weekly (6 am–4:30 pm) with overtime every other Saturday (6 am–2:30 pm).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Welding certifications in basic welding and MIG welding from a technical college or equivalent program from an accredited institution.
• Must successfully pass 1G and 3G X‑rayed weld tests.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Minden, LA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to perform advanced welding and fabrication of structural and mechanical components.
• Set up and operate welding equipment to perform MIG welding and other required welding processes across plant operations.
• Perform high‑quality welds and fabrication tasks in accordance with blueprint requirements and supervisor direction.
• Grind, finish, inspect, and clean welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following safety procedures and supporting 5S initiatives.
• Communicate effectively by reporting equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or irregularities to leadership.
