Job summary

Eaton Fibrebond, a division of Eaton, is hiring a Welding Technician in Minden, LA. You will join a team that supports fabrication of modular buildings and power enclosures, performing advanced welding and fabrication on steel, aluminum, and cast metals.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating MIG welding equipment, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Core hours are 54 per week (6:00 am–4:30 pm) with overtime every other Saturday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Welding certifications in basic welding and MIG welding from a technical college or equivalent program.
• Must successfully pass 1G and 3G X‑ray weld tests.
• No relocation benefit; must reside within 50-mile radius of Minden, LA facility; military candidates exempt from radius restriction.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to perform advanced welding and fabrication of structural and mechanical components.
• Set up and operate welding equipment to perform MIG welding and other required welding processes across plant operations.
• Perform high‑quality welds and fabrication tasks in accordance with blueprint requirements and supervisor direction.
• Grind, finish, inspect, and clean welds to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following safety procedures and supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or irregularities to leadership.
