Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking a motivated welder/inspector who will support both production and engineering in welded connections. The candidate should learn quickly, communicate clearly, and drive improvements in quality, productivity, and safety within the welding function.

The role emphasizes hands-on welding, training of new welders, and collaboration across design, prototype, and manufacturing stages to ensure robust weld quality and process reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma and formal welding-related training.
• Minimum three years welding-related experience (inspection/maintenance/quality).
• Basic understanding of weld design guidelines, standards, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect welds and audit weldments, discussing results with leadership.
• Suggest improvements to welding processes and quantify potential cost savings.
• Review ECNs, create CRFs for welding issues, and support new product launches.
• Train new welders and assist in qualifying welders and welding procedures.
• Perform root cause analysis on weld failures and support warranty resolutions.
• Document inspection results, welder qualifications, and quality improvements.
