Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections to ensure weldments align with blueprints and technical specifications.
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as weld gauges, calipers, and squares to validate dimensional accuracy throughout the fabrication process.
• Document inspection outcomes and manage non-conformance reports to facilitate timely resolution of quality issues.
• Analyze engineering drawings and bills of material to confirm that all assemblies meet design intent before and after production.
• Partner with production staff to provide feedback on weld quality, coaching on best practices to minimize rework and scrap.
• Maintain meticulous records of inspection logs, material certifications, and equipment calibration schedules to ensure full traceability.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control within a metal fabrication or welding environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Working knowledge of MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes along with standard weld symbols.
• Strong technical documentation skills and comfort using MS Office or ERP quality tracking software.

Preferred Skills

• Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential.
• Experience conducting first-article inspections for new product development.
• Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis to improve manufacturing processes.
