Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is hiring a Quality Weld Inspector to ensure welded and fabricated products meet engineering drawings, welding requirements, and customer specifications.

The role is based on the manufacturing floor, inspecting parts at key production stages to prevent defects and support continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with welding processes, and the ability to read drawings and welding symbols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or manufacturing education preferred.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, tolerances and welding symbols.
• AWS CWI certification preferred; knowledge of NDT methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-weld, in-process, and final inspections to confirm conformance with drawings and specs.
• Inspect welds for size, location, profile, and workmanship; identify defects.
• Verify materials, fit-up, alignment, gaps, and welding symbols per WPS.
• Maintain inspection records and enable traceability; support NCR/NCMR processes.
• Assist in root-cause investigations and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
