Job summary

Girtz Industries, Inc. seeks a Certified Welding Inspector to ensure weld quality and compliance with regulatory standards on the production floor. You will inspect welded components, interpret blueprints, and support non-destructive testing activities.

You will train and certify welders, develop WPS and welding plans, and drive continuous improvement while partnering with production for timely corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector with QA/QC manufacturing experience.
• AWS or equivalent certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded components using precision measuring instruments.
• Verify welding procedures adhere to industry standards.
• Review blueprints, production documents, and specifications for quality compliance.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) to assess weld integrity.
• Document inspection results, prepare data for audits, and generate reports.
• Collaborate with production to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in quality audits and ensure ISO standards compliance.
• Certify full-time welders to D1.1 via weld and bend tests; conduct tests for applicants.
• Develop Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and sequencing plans for current and future robotic welding.
• Continuously improve processes and proactively fix issues.
