Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is seeking a Quality Weld Inspector to ensure welded and fabricated products meet engineering drawings, welding requirements, and customer specifications.

The role focuses on in-process inspections on the manufacturing floor, working with welders and engineering teams to prevent defects and improve quality. Key duties include pre-weld and post-weld inspections, dimensional checks, and supporting NCR/NCMR documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or manufacturing education preferred.
• Experience in welding/fabrication quality inspection preferred.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, tolerances, and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding processes and materials helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-weld, in-process, and final inspections according to drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Verify products meet requirements before they move to the next operation.
• Identify quality issues and process deviations early to reduce rework and delays.
• Provide feedback to welders and supervisors when problems are found.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation accurately.
