Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Welding Coordinator to join our Lafayette, IN location. The role supports the department supervisor to maintain production flow, ensure weld quality, and train team members. You may perform welding when needed and must pass Weld Tests or Certification Tests as site requirements dictate.

Training is provided, and candidates will undergo orientation and days of training before production floor deployment. Strong communication and safety mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have above average written and verbal communication skills.
• High School diploma or GED preferred for the position.
• Good people skills required and ability to learn computer applications.
• Math skills including basic operations with Engineering Specifications.
• Ability to understand Change Orders and Safe Work Instructions.
• Good problem-solving skills are required and weld tests may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dept. Supervisor in meeting production goals.
• Exercise independent judgment and manage production flow.
• Adhere to and enforce Wabash safety requirements.
• Work with techniques, quality requirements, equipment, and prints.
• In absences, weld assemblies to maintain schedule.
• Ensure work quality aligns with Wabash standards.
• Overtime may be required and supervised by senior staff.
